Kids Color Belts – Yellow Through Red (Ages 4-10)
Monday through Thursday (4:30-5:15)
The color of the belts are symbolic representations of rank advancement as well as acknowledgement of personal growth.
White is the beginning, the seed. A white belt student is a beginner searching for knowledge of martial arts.
Yellow signifies the first ray of sunlight which shines upon the seed giving it strength; the beginning of new life. A yellow belt student represents the first beam of knowledge and opening of the mind.
Green is symbolic of the growth of the seed as it begins to grow into a plant. A green belt student learns to further refine and develop mental and physical techniques.
Blue represents the sky as the young plant grows upward. The student is gains additional knowledge of Taekwondo to further develop.
Red is symbolic of fire, the sun, as the plant continues to experience growth. The red belt student learns to be more cautious and tactical as abilities increase.
Black is metaphoric of the darkness past the sun. A black belt continues to learn, but also begins to plant new seeds. A black belt may begin to have students whom will also begin the transformation of self-improvement and knowledge.
